About Us Travel To Nepal

Private treks in Nepal, as dreamed by you.

Travel To Nepal is a licensed trekking company in Kathmandu. We plan private treks across Nepal, from Everest and Annapurna to quiet valleys like Nar Phu and Manaslu. Four beliefs shape every trip we plan, and it all starts with listening to you.

01 · We listen first

We understand you first. Then we suggest the trek you deserve.

Before we suggest a route, we listen. We want to know your thoughts, your interests and your preferences. We also want to know how you make decisions and why this trip matters to you.

Once we understand that, we suggest the itinerary that fits you best. It might not be the most famous trek. It will be the right one for you.

“We listen first, then we plan around you.”

  1. 1. We listen

We ask open questions and let you talk. There are no forms and no sales script.

    • “What made you think of Nepal?”
    • “What do you love doing when you travel?”
    • “What should this trip mean for you?”
    • “Is there anything you want to avoid?”
  2. 2. We understand

We look past the trek name to what you are really looking for.

    Your thoughts
    What you picture
    Your interests
    Peaks, villages, food
    Your preferences
    Pace, comfort, crowds
    Your purpose
    Why this trip, why now

We also learn how you decide, so we explain our suggestions the way that helps you most.

  3. 3. We suggest

Only then do we suggest a route: the right trek, the right number of days and the right pace for you, with the reason for each choice.

For example: a first-time trekker who worries about steep climbs and wants quiet trails might hear "Langtang, with a gentle day hike into Langshisha Valley" before "Everest Base Camp".

02 · Honest and proactive

We always give you honest advice, even when it costs us a booking.

Honest means we share real costs, real crowds, real difficulty and real risks. Proactive means we raise problems first: a better month, a closed road, or a trek that's too high for your first trip. We tell you, even if it means you cancel the trek. You make the final call.

“We'll share what we know. You make the call.”

Advice we give, even when it means less booking for us

  • “Langtang may suit your first trek better than Everest Base Camp.”
    To a first-time trekker
  • “If you dislike crowded lodges, skip Poon Hill in October. Mardi Himal or Pikey Peak will feel quieter.”
To a guest who wants quiet trails
  • “Your dates fall in the monsoon. Wait, or choose a rain-shadow route.”
To a guest booking for July
  • “You don't need the longer version. Seven days is enough for what you want to see.”
To a guest short on time
  • Before you bookWe say when a shorter, cheaper or easier trek fits you better, or when you don't need an extra service.
  • On every trek pageFull prices, what is not included, honest notes and who the trek is not for.
  • Before you flyWe message you first about weather, road, flight or permit changes, and what they mean for your plan.
  • On the trailYour guide explains the reason for every turn-back or route change. If we make a mistake, we admit it and fix it.

03 · Private and flexible

We change the plan to fit you, not the other way round.

We don't sell a fixed package and ask you to fit it. Your private trek is built from what you told us, and you can keep changing it until it feels right.

The plan stays flexible after you book, too. If you want to change it in the middle of the trek, we're always open, and we'll do our best to make it happen. Need a rest day, a slower pace or one more night in a village? Your guide can change it on the trail, and our Kathmandu office rebooks lodges, jeeps and flights the same day.

“If it can be done, we'll do it.”

Even when it means more work, a new booking or a long phone call for our team.

How your trek stays flexible

  1. Before bookingYou get two or three versions of the same trek to compare. Changes are free until the plan fits.
  2. BookingYour own dates and your own group, with no strangers added. Your plan names your guide and explains why each day is planned the way it is.
  3. On the trailAdd a rest day, slow the pace, take a side trip or stay longer in a village, when it's safe and permits allow it.
  4. After the trekWe help with extra days in Nepal, changed flights or planning your next trip.

Where flexibility stops, honestly: safety always comes first. Restricted-area permits fix your dates and the valley you can enter. Extra days on the trail cost extra guide, porter and lodge days, and we tell you that cost before we change anything. Changes before booking are always free.

04 · Our core belief

An open mind makes your trip better.

Being open-minded gives you new perspectives and new experiences. That's true anywhere, but it's especially true among the mountains of Nepal, where every valley has its own way of life.

Two people can walk the same trail and come home with different trips. With a closed mind, every mountain, river and forest starts to look the same after a few days.

With an open mind, you notice the difference. The rock and trees change as you climb. The food and prayer flags change from valley to valley. Gurung, Sherpa, Tamang and Tibetan Buddhist villages each live in their own way. That curiosity is often what our guests remember most.

How we invite you in

  • Before the trek: a short note on the villages, cultures and customs on your route, with a few Nepali words to try.
  • On the trail: your guide points out what changes from valley to valley, such as houses, crops, food, festivals and beliefs, not only the peaks.
  • Small "yes" moments: a tea invitation, a monastery visit, a village meal or a detour to a viewpoint.

We invite, we never lecture. Respect for local people always comes first.

“Just bring an open mind.”

We'll take care of the rest.

The one rule above all four

Your trek, your way. The only thing we won't bend on is your safety.

Our story

Meet Sandip Kshetri, Founder of Travel To Nepal

I’m Sandip Kshetri, a licensed guide from Mirlung, a hillside village in Tanahun near the Annapurna region. I’ve guided more than 200 travelers in Nepal.

My journey began on the Mardi Himal Trek in 2022.

One clear afternoon, I stopped to watch a small cloud drift across Annapurna South. As I stood there, it felt like the mountain was whispering to me. That moment made me realize that mountains, rivers, and forests have their own voice, and we only need to listen. From that day, my love for nature and mountains grew stronger. That passion led me into tourism, and in 2025, I cofounded Travel To Nepal.

I started this company to stay in my own country and give something back to it. We pay our guides and porters 50% more than the industry standard, and no porter carries more than 20 kg. We also show Nepal through local voices, including small villages which most travelers never hear about.

We trek slowly and with an open mind, so you notice the villages, rivers, and forests, not just the summit view. Above all, we always keep your safety first.

  1. 01

Respect and fair pay for the trail team

Guides, porters and trekking staff often don't get the respect or the pay they deserve. We want to change that, and it starts with how we treat our own team.

  2. 02

Places that deserve the world's attention

Many beautiful parts of Nepal still get very few visitors. We want to share them and give travelers a reason to go beyond the famous trails.

  3. 03

    Tourism that empowers local people

We want tourism to bring real income to families across Nepal. We sincerely believe this is still very possible in many regions, and every trek we plan is a step toward it.

Our voice

Nepal, shown the way a local would show it

We have noticed something else. We Nepalese people rarely have our own voice in the world. Far too often, foreign companies and foreign people represent Nepal in their own way.

We are truly thankful to everyone who has promoted our country, and we will never forget their contribution. But it is time for Nepalese people to speak to the world directly.

Through Travel To Nepal, we want to show Nepal in our own way. As we grow, we will make documentaries, stories and videos that represent Nepal, so others won't have to speak for us on the world stage.

“It's time for Nepal to have its own voice.”
